1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

Account data: Full name, email address, password (stored as a hashed value), and role/job title.
Profile content: Profile photo, geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude pins), and any bio information you choose to share.
User-generated content: Posts, comments, direct messages, and media files (photos, videos) you upload.
Event data: Events you create and RSVPs you submit.
Network data: Connections you choose to make with other users.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited.
Device information: Device type, screen resolution, and language preferences.
Usage data: Interactions with features, timestamps of actions, and session duration.

2.3 Location information

If you grant location permission in your browser, we may collect your precise GPS coordinates for the purpose of displaying and updating your location pins. You may revoke this permission at any time in your browser settings.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share data only in these circumstances:

Other users: Profile information (name, role, photo, location pins) is visible to other registered users as part of the Platform's social features.
Service providers: Trusted vendors who help us operate the Platform (hosting, analytics, email delivery) under strict data processing agreements.
Legal requirements: We may disclose data when required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.
Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to a successor entity. We will notify you before this occurs.

5. Cookies and Tracking

Däätum uses session cookies necessary for authentication and keeping you logged in. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Disabling cookies in your browser may prevent you from logging into the Platform.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes (e.g., for up to 7 years for financial records, if applicable).

Content you post may remain visible for a brief period after deletion during cache clearance cycles.

7. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted password storage (bcrypt), HTTPS in transit, and access controls on our infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

8. Children's Privacy

Däätum is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will take prompt steps to delete it. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@leanear.com.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
Portability: Receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
Restriction: Request that we limit the processing of your data.
Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Platform before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the update constitutes acceptance.
